Grants
Grants made by the Fred and Mary Koch Foundation are awarded primarily to charitable organizations as defined in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and not to individuals. The Foundation partners with non-profit organizations in an effort to foster economic and social progress in Kansas by advancing a culture of individual freedom, responsibility and Principled Entrepreneurship™. It also awards grants which build on a Koch family passion for the arts by supporting artistic endeavors and educational ventures which stimulate interest in both the performing and visual arts.
The Foundation demonstrates the Koch family’s commitment to environmental improvement by supporting science-based environmental education and market-based efforts to improve the environment. In addition, the Foundation strives to educate and equip well-qualified youth through quality educational programs.

Scholarships
The Koch Scholarship Awards Program is a merit-based, competitive scholarship program for undergraduate students. Awards are based upon an independent scholarship committee’s evaluation of individual student achievements utilizing application materials submitted. The Foundation awards scholarships to dependents of full-time employees of Koch Industries, Inc., Koch Holdings, LLC, or any of their wholly owned subsidiaries* with a minimum of one year of service by March 1. Additional information about the scholarship selection process is located at the Scholarships page of this site.
New applications are limited to dependents of Koch company employees who meet the eligibility requirements and application deadline. Each year, the Foundation awards the maximum number of new scholarships possible as outlined by IRS regulations (25 percent of new applications).
Renewal applications are limited to the previous year’s scholarship recipients and are approved by the scholarship committee. Scholarships are granted to all applicants who meet the eligibility requirements and application deadlines.
